GuaGuaLong - Storyboard Artist

GuaGuaLong was launched by Bytedance, which operates content platforms like TikTok. It is a systematic AI educational product aimed at creating an immersive Chinese learning environment for children aged 2-11 years old. Through a series of animations and interactive activities, students are able to have a comprehensive learning experience while having fun with Rex and his Friends.
Because of the coronavirus, children had to study from home from 2020 to 2021. There was a huge growth of online academics in China during that time. GuaGuaLong was a star product in the competitive market and stood out from thousands of similar education products. However, this product was accidentally stopped by a policy influence in China.
In this education project, I was a leader of a group of storyboard artists in “GuaGuaLong Art Class”. My work was making storyboards for educational animations for children.
During my time in Bytedance, I drew several fan arts of GuaGuaLong. The working atmosphere was great and everybody was filled with expectations.

After an adjustment of groups in Nov 2021, GuaGuaLong was moved to Douyin (the Chinese version of Tiktok). I am still drawing storyboards for this account right now. But the way of working is a little bit different from before. Because I need to draw vertical composition rather than horizontal composition.
